With a simple yet engaging format, the “Where is Spring” Photo Contest generated significant interest from the very beginning. Photo enthusiasts within our online community joined our event from all over China and shared their best work. Throughout the event, our partner sites also brought many new participants to the Photo Contest and multiplied the overall effect of the media exposure. In the end, since the winner of the contest was from Sichuan province, where the devastating earthquake took place, she wanted to donate the grand prize to an earthquake victim foundation. The "10,000 reasons to love Hong Kong" contest, created for Dragonair, generated much anticipation about traveling to Hong Kong within a short period of time. Enticed by the attractively priced Dragonair special packages, many who didn’t have vacation plans at the time ended up wanting to take advantage of the Dragonair promotion. During the contest, we received many inquiry calls about traveling to Hong Kong. In addition, those community members and contest participants that have been to Hong Kong in the past kindly provided tips, suggestions, reviews and itinerary recommendations on traveling in HK, for the benefit of those who were thinking about going there. The event proved to be an effective way to inspire the would-be travelers about a particular destination, in this case, Hong Kong.
