谷文达《天堂红灯 － 马蒂尼塔》简讯：

经过前后四年并在中国与荷兰两地团队精心协调和努力下，谷文达的跨国艺术计划《天堂红灯》在荷兰的项目《天堂红灯 － 马蒂尼塔》已完成其所有的前期准备工作并一切就绪。在此之前，我们得到了荷兰格罗宁根市政府与荷兰保护建筑协会一如既往的支持。谷文达艺术制作与合作伙伴包括欧洲基金会，荷兰格罗宁根美术馆，菲力浦电气公司，荷兰建筑工程师和建筑工程队等等进行了一系列的顺利合作，其中包括经艺术家谷文达对红灯笼的形象设计，荷兰建筑工程师设计抗高风力灯笼内部的金属结构，灯笼红布达到荷兰的防火标准等等。原定将再2008年北京奥运开幕之前完成此雄伟壮观的项目 《天堂红灯 － 马蒂尼塔》，最后由于马蒂尼教堂是荷兰国家级保护建筑和其它种种原因，直到三星期前荷兰格罗宁根市政府否决了 《天堂红灯 － 马蒂尼塔》的艺术计划。格罗宁根美术馆和 《天堂红灯 － 马蒂尼塔》的工作团队向市政府明确驳回此一决定。 如今《天堂红灯 － 马蒂尼塔》已成为荷兰媒体焦点和家喻户晓的讨论话题。格罗宁根市最后决定在2008年八月底在格罗宁根市法庭开庭公开讨论并判定《天堂红灯 － 马蒂尼塔》最终得以实现还是取消。

wenda gu's "heavenly lantern - martini tower" project update:

four years have passed since the netherlands  "heavenly lantern - martini tower"  project on the famous tower of the monumental landmark, martini cathedral, has begun.  the unique chinese lantern design of this project has been  completed by the artist. the project has been a the result of team work both in china and the netherlands, with the support of a european foundation, groninger art museum & philip electronics, cooperating with a team of architectural engineers and a construction company in the netherlands.  the lanterns had many particular requirements to meet such as a fabric selection that would meet the dutch fire safety standards, & the ability to sustain high winds, which required the lantern to have a carefully structured interior metal armature. the spectacular "heavenly lanterns - martini tower" opening to the public was planned to coincide with the opening of 2008 beijing olympics. strangely, the art project was voted down at the last minute by the city municipal government of groningen for various reasons, one of which claimed that the martini cathedral was a national heritage monument that should not be touched.  the groninger art museum & the team of "heavenly lanterns - martini tower" have stood up to fight against the city government's decision. currently, the "heavenly lanterns - martini tower" has become the local hot topic of the media & living-room conversations in the netherlands.  as a result, the government of groningen city decided to bring the case to the city court for a public hearing. at the end of august 2008 a court decision will follow a debate at the groningen city court as to whether the "heavenly lanterns- martini tower" project should be cancelled or finally materialized.
